How to Overcome Swollen Knee

There are several treatments you can do at home to reduce swelling and pain in the knee, including:

1. Rest your knees

When your knee is swollen, first stop the activity and rest your knee. This method can reduce pain and swelling in the knee.

2. Compress with ice

Compress knee swelling with ice to reduce swelling and prevent swelling from getting worse. Compress for 10-20 minutes, at least three times a day.

3. Give a knee pad

When lying down, position the swollen knee higher than the chest. You can put a pillow under the knee as a support.

4. Consumption of drugs

Several types of pain medication can be an option for treating swollen knees, including nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and paracetamol. Take the medication according to the dosage listed on the package or as directed by your doctor. The causes of knee swelling vary, it could be due to an injury, it could also be due to certain diseases. You can reduce complaints by the above methods. However, if your knee is getting swollen, painful, and difficult to move, you should consult a doctor to get a proper examination and treatment.
